Sexual diversity celebrated on September 3rd to 5th
GLBT Québec is proud to announce that Gay Pride celebrations in Quebec City will be held as usual during Labour Day week end, from Friday September 3rd to Sunday September 5th.
Housing – 15% less!!!
Tourists visiting Quebec City during the Gay Pride period will benefit from a special Arc-en-ciel rate of 15% less than the regular cost of a room with very comfortable official Hotel PUR located in Nouvo St-Roch borough. Just mention the Gay Pride and you’ll get a 15% reduction!!!
Theme
The 2010 Quebec City Gay Pride activities are based on the long march of GLBT people of the province of Quebec for their rights to be respected. This historical theme will also be the base of the artistical part of the celebrations, which will talk about the evolution of the culture in Quebec. Street animation and decoration will be inspired by the folklore of the Belle Province and shows at Place d’Youville will celebrate the 80’ and our divas, including the most famous one : Celine!!!.
Programming
Quebec City Gay Pride will start with a formal activity on September 3rd at 10AM : the Rainbow Flag will be raised at mast in the City Hall Gardens in presence of distinguished guests and press members. A conference about homophobia in high schools will follow at 1:30PM at Hotel PUR. Then there will be an official opening cocktail downtown at 5PM at the Boudoir Lounge. On Saturday, St-Jean street will pedestrian-only from noon to 5PM. That’s the occasion for the Community Fair Day and fort some street animation. At night, at Place d’Youville, you’ll hear the talented finalists of the Gay Pride Singing Contest at 8PM before the great performance of the officiel 80’s official party group : The Karma Kameleons!!!
On Sunday, you are invited at Place d’Youville at 11h30AM for a popular outdoor brunch against homophobia. In the afternoon takes place the second Community Fair Day and at night, two shows will be performed, still at Place d’Youville. First, at 8PM Quebec City drag queens will bring you into the world of the Divas of Quebec!!! Then, the famous Michel Dorion from Montreal will offer a reproduction of the last Celine Dion tour show.
Great outdoor and indooor drag queen shows will be presented at Le Drague Cabaret Club on Thursday, Friday and Sunday nights and during the after noon on Saturday and on Sunday.
